Sewing Kit

We’ve had many sewing kits gifted to us over the years, always in little cloth or plastic bags that we end up losing.

Seems to may that stuffing all those little easy to lose pieces into a mason jar would make sure we never lose our sewing kit again.

And while you’re at it, why not make a few extra and give them out as gifts to a crafty friend or relative as well?

Alright, so if you’re making your own sewing kit, what should you include?

Well once you’ve found a pint-sized mason jar set up, assemble the following bits and bobs.

  • Thread spools (black, white, maybe blue for jeans)
  • Safety pins
  • Sewing pins
  • Sewing needles
  • Tiny scissors
  • Cloth measuring tape
  • Needle threader
  • Pincushion sized to lid

Sure you could go out and find all this stuff individually, but you know what I would do? Just go and get a cheap travel sewing kit off Amazon, dump it gently into a mason jar, and finish it off with some nice rustic twine and a personalized label. No one will even know the difference! 🙂
